Breckenridge Ski Resort Seeks Approval For a Mountain Roller Coaster

The Breckenridge Planning Commission is in a agreement to allow for an alpine coaster at the Breckenridge Ski Resort, according to a recent Summit Daily News article . The plan will now go in front of Town Council March 23 for their feedback or approval. The ski resort's Alpine Slide is always a big hit with kids of all ages each summer. The mountain coaster is similar to an alpine slide but it's on a rail on raised tracks. Vail Resorts is proposing a 2,500 foot coaster on Peak 8 between two ski runs. There is a similar coaster in Colorado at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. If approved, construction may start as early as this summer.

AT&T Cell Service Problems Should Improve in Breckenridge

Many AT&T customers who live in our have visited Breckenridge this winter have complained of poor cell service in the area, including dropped calls, poor reception and voice mails that have shown up a day later. AT&T is helping to resolve this service problem buy placing a cell on wheels/temporary cell tower at Colorado Mountain College (CMC) to provide supplemental service until the addition of a more permanent Breckenridge location is obtained for a tower (hopefully in the next 6 months). The proposed tower location sits at the northwest corner of the south parking lot at the former CMC campus at 103 S. Harris Street. The permanent location is currently being researched, but will most likely be on one of Breckenridge's taller buildings such as Beaver Run Resort. We hope this solves the problem with AT&T for our year-round visitors.
