Secret Stash - 2012 International Snow Sculpture Championships

January 24 marks the return of the annual and much anticipated International Snow Sculpture Championships (ISSC). A rtists will spend 65 hours carving 20-ton blocks of snow into awe-inspiring masterpieces. S now sculptors from around the globe will make Breckenridge their home during the event, taking place January 24-February 5, 2012. The competitive field is made up of 15 teams this year and the talent pool of sculptors will be exceptional as most every team has medaled in competition before.  The International Snow Sculpture Championships will again be cast under a LED-lighting display as introduced last year, illuminating the sculptures and giving a different perspective to the event. We highly recommend checking out the snow sculptures in the evenings throughout the event for the opportunity to see the creations in this beautiful display of light. The Secret Stash – Illuminating Snow Art In Breckenridge

January 25, 2011 marks the start of the International Snow Sculpting Championships in Breckenridge. Snow artists will spend 65 hours carving 20-ton blocks of snow into awe-inspiring masterpieces. The artists come from throughout the country, around the world and even hailing from our own Breckenridge Associates Real Estate office with the event’s original team. The 16 teams will compete to produce impeccable works of snow art for the public to view and ponder the impossibility of many of the creations. New this year, the event will be cast under a LED-lighting display, illuminating the sculptures and giving a new perspective to the event. We highly recommend checking out the snow sculptures in the evenings throughout the event for the opportunity to see the creations in a whole new light. Sculpting begins January 25 at 11am and ends January 29 at 10am. The Award Ceremony takes place January 30 at 3:30pm. Public viewing of the sculptures is January 30-February 6, weather permitting....

Breck Snowflake Challenge Results & Photos

December 5-11 was a week of snow sculpting celebration on Main Street in Breckenridge, where 18 local teams came together to create some awe-inspiring sculptures for the public to see and competed to win a cash prize of $1,500 for the winning team. In its 3rd year, this year's event was the most successful to date with so many beautiful sculptures coming to life throughout town. You can still view many of the sculptures over the next couple days.
