September Real Estate News Update

We saw a slight increase in sales of residential properties throughout Summit County in September compared to sales from the same month last year. There were 118 residences that sold last month, showing a sharp increase in sales from the month of August and we continue to see signs of a stabilizing housing market in Summit County.

Even though buyers are returning to the market, the unusually elevated number of properties available today continue to drive sales prices lower. At the current rate of monthly sales in Breckenridge we have in excess of two years of inventory available to buyers. Sales are happening, but it’s now more important than ever to price your home as competitively as possible to secure a sale.

Sales of particular note last month include a brand new 6,000 square foot luxury home overlooking the Jack Nicklaus-designed Golf Course in Breckenridge. The final sale price was $2,700,000, which translates to over $450/square foot.
