The Secret Stash – Illuminating Snow Art In Breckenridge
January 25, 2011 marks the start of the International Snow Sculpting Championships in Breckenridge. Snow artists will spend 65 hours carving 20-ton blocks of snow into awe-inspiring masterpieces.
The artists come from throughout the country, around the world and even hailing from our own Breckenridge Associates Real Estate office with the event’s original team. The 16 teams will compete to produce impeccable works of snow art for the public to view and ponder the impossibility of many of the creations. New this year, the event will be cast under a LED-lighting display, illuminating the sculptures and giving a new perspective to the event. We highly recommend checking out the snow sculptures in the evenings throughout the event for the opportunity to see the creations in a whole new light.
Sculpting begins January 25 at 11am and ends January 29 at 10am. The Award Ceremony takes place January 30 at 3:30pm. Public viewing of the sculptures is January 30-February 6, weather permitting. The event is free to the public and located in the parking lot adjacent to the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge. You can participate by voting for People’s Choice award.
