Secret Stash – April’s Jam Packed With Live Music In The Mountains

It’s hard to believe this epic snow year is winding down and coming to a close. We hope you’re able to get out there and make a few more turns before the end of the season. It doesn’t get much better than a warm spring bluebird ski day in the mountains. In honor of an incredible, snowy ski season, Summit County ski resorts know how to throw the best end-of-year party with lots of live (and mostly FREE) music. Check out some of the music on tap in April at our local ski resorts below.

Breckenridge Ski Resort
It’s Spring Fever in Breckenridge with a hot line-up of concerts throughout April. Get to the base area at Peak 8 from 3-5pm Saturday and Sunday afternoons in April for the Bud Light Concert Series’ free concerts, with live bands performing on the specially-constructed Bud Light stage. And if you’re looking for even more live music, there’s more to be found on select evenings throughout the month at the Riverwalk Performing Arts Center from 5:30-7pm.

Saturday, April 9
3-5pm, Bud Light Concert Series: The Wailers are legendary reggae icons carrying on Bob Marley’s legacy. Located at the Peak 8 base area. Concert is FREE.

Sunday, April 10
3-5pm, Bud Light Concert Series: Ozomatli
is an LA-based group with a great live presence, brewing a vital concoction of Latin salsa, urban hip-hop, and jazz-funk Located at the Peak 8 base area. Concert is FREE.

Friday, April 15
5:30-7pm, Breck “Retro Fever” Riverwalk Concert: Moses Jones. The some 12-person band relies on their tight rhythm section, solid horns and smooth vocals to deliver a mix of funk, soul, R&B and disco. Concert is FREE.

Saturday, April 16
3-5pm, Bud Light Concert Series: Moe is honest, heartfelt rock from this East Coast that’s been a mainstay for 2 decades.
Located at the Peak 8 base area. Concert is FREE.

5:30-7pm, Breck “Retro Fever” Riverwalk Concert: Jakarta. Denver-based Jakarta brings the sounds of old-school funk and Motown to keep the crowds moving on the dance floor. Concert is FREE.

Sunday, April 17
3-5pm, Bud Light Concert Series: DeVotchKa are Colorado natives with their own unique Gypsy style, providing live multi-instrumental performances like no other. Located at the Peak 8 base area. Concert is FREE.

Copper Mountain Resort
Copper winds down the ski season with its annual music bash celebration, Sunsation. Enjoy live music all day each day of the two last weekends of the ski season at Copper Mountain. While you’re there, you might catch some more fun and games – including the Red Bull 1976 Games the first weekend and an Easter Celebration on closing weekend.

Saturday, April 16
Live music all day with headliners, Gin Blossoms. Fueled by mega-hits including "Hey Jealousy," "Found Out About You" and "Til I Hear It From You," Gin Blossoms completed the classic crossover from college-circuit heroes to multi-platinum album sellers. Concert is FREE.

Sunday, April 17
Live music all day with headliners, Quiet Riot. Quiet Riot is an American heavy metal band, best known for their hit singles “Cum On Feel the Noize” and “Metal Health.” They are ranked in VH1's “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.” Concert is FREE.

Sunday Evening @ 7:30pm, live music in the Copper Conference Center by MiMOSA w/Archnemesis and Frequent-C. Tickets for this show are $20 in advance and $25 day of show. Purchase tickets at www.GigDigger.com.

Saturday, April 23
Live music all day, with headliners The Samples, making sure to keep things hot! The Samples are a band formed in Boulder, CO in early 1987. The band's name came from the members' early sustenance of food samples from the local grocery store. The music has been described as "reggae influenced folk and rock/pop." Concert is FREE.

Saturday, April 24
Live music all day, with headliners Reel Big Fish! Reel Big Fish was one of the legions of Southern California ska-punk bands to edge into the mainstream following the mid-’90s success of No Doubt and Sublime. Concert is FREE.

Keystone Ski Resort
Keystone wraps up the season with a fun weekend, including a concert-filled Saturday.

Saturday, April 9
4-7pm, River Run Rocks with Robert Earl Keen. Country music and music lovers of all ages will enjoy this concert. Keep the kids entertained during the concert with village activities. Located in River Run Village. Concert is FREE.

7:30pm, A Keystone Night with the David Sanborn Trio and special guest Joey DeFrancesco. Celebrate the evening with three-time Grammy award-winning and highly celebrated saxophoist, David Sanborn.
