In Breckenridge, we saw a significant increase in the number of properties sold in the month of May compared to the same time last year.  There were 27 single family homes sold in 2013, compared with 24 sold in 2012.  Duplexes sales doubled with 7 selling in 2013 versus 2 sold in 2013.  Condos also saw an increase in number of units sold for the month.  In 2013, 18 condos sold compared with 12 in 2012.  Townhomes decreased in the number sold in 2013, with only 5 selling in May. In Summit County, we saw a steady increase in the number of properties sold in the month of May compared to the same time last year.  There were 60 single family homes sold in 2013, compared with 57 sold in 2012.  Twelve duplexes sold this May versus nine in 2012.  Condos also saw a minimal increase in the number of units sold for the month.  In 2013, 48 condos sold compared with 45 in 2012.  Townhomes experienced a decrease in the number sold in 2013, wi...

KINGDOM DAYS The official kickoff to summer….Come visit Breckenridge to celebrate more than 150 years of the town’s past from the mining days. The town turns upside down for the weekend while locals and visitors celebrate the gold fields and mining, exploration and adventure, booms and busts. The weekend festivities begin with the Town Party the evening of June 14th, from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at the Riverwalk Center. For 18 years, Breckenridge has been throwing a party for locals. This party is to thank everyone for all their hard work over the winter and to welcome summer. The event is free, food and beverages will be sold. The town photo will be taken between 5:30 and 6 p.m. from atop the Red, White and Blue Fire District's ladder truck. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of the Treasury recently released the April edition of the Obama Administration’s Housing Scorecard – a comprehensive report on the nation’s housing market. The latest data shows important progress across many key indicators. Even though home values continue to rise and home sales remained strong, officials caution that the overall recovery remains fragile.
