The official kickoff to summer….Come visit Breckenridge to celebrate more than 150 years of the town’s past from the mining days. The town turns upside down for the weekend while locals and visitors celebrate the gold fields and mining, exploration and adventure, booms and busts. The weekend festivities begin with the Town Party the evening of June 14th, from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at the Riverwalk Center. For 18 years, Breckenridge has been throwing a party for locals. This party is to thank everyone for all their hard work over the winter and to welcome summer. The event is free, food and beverages will be sold. The town photo will be taken between 5:30 and 6 p.m. from atop the Red, White and Blue Fire District's ladder truck. Then the weekend continues with the famous outhouse races and the beginning of the summer gondola hours.
